

Most people don't know that in the official launcher you can set different game folders for each installation/profile/instance. Usually it's the file download page that mentions it and in some cases not even then. Most if the time the mod's description page doesn't mention that and people find out the hard way.

Some mods require dependencies, these are api or library mods. They mix nods, be it mods for different mod loaders or wrong game versions. You have no idea how many times and how many was people screw up making a mod pack using the official launcher. The launcher installs everything you need with less worry of screwing it up.
